We will run individual auditions (like a mini singing lesson) - get in touch with Sandra via our audition form.
If you are interested in joining us, it’s really useful to come
to a concert and see how we work on stage and how we sound live - visit our Events page to find our next show.

WHAT HAPPENS at a WORKSHOP/AUDITION?
Our process aims to be informal and friendly and a way for us to see how you work. If we run a workshop, you won’t be required to sing solo in front of the group - unless you want to!
On a workshop we will take you through a simple warm-up, run through some other vocal exercises and learn a harmony song together and hopefully have some fun.
We may also ask you to send in a short video clip of you singing a song - on your phone, nothing fancy - as a first step before recalls.
We will then call back singers for a later date, who we feel best fit with our choir’s sound, for an individual session with Sandra. For this you will need to sing an a cappella song and Sandra will run through some scales to test your range. Think of it more as a mini singing lesson, as Sandra will give you different vocal exercises to find other possibilities in your voice!
We really want you to do your best - you don’t have to be perfect but being prepared is always a good idea! We can see your potential and whether we can bring it out, even if you make a mistake!
top tips!
If you haven’t sung for a while, do try to get singing before the workshop/audition, so you are limbered up and feeling less rusty. It will help your confidence and your voice’s flexibility.
For a ‘call back’ - choose & prepare a song and really give yourself time to practise it and be on top of the words and tune. It’s great to have it memorised but if not, aim to just use the music sheet as a prompt, rather than a crutch.
Choose a song that shows your voice off and is in the right key for you to shine. It’s a good idea not to choose a really difficult one, they can be tricky to deliver if you get nervous - choose one that you feel super comfortable with and that you can sing consistently well.
Choose a song that works unaccompanied. A folk one is good!
Know what your song is about and who wrote it, not just who sang it!
Sing it in the mirror - with your eyes open. Your performance of it will improve and you will be less nervous. Good luck!
